The Las Vegas Strip is a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard in Clark County, Nevada, that is known for its concentration of resort hotels and casinos. The Strip, as it is known, is about 4.2 mi (6.8 km) long, [1] and is immediately south of the Las Vegas city limits in the unincorporated towns of Paradise and Winchester, but is often referred to simply as "Las Vegas".
Downtown Las Vegas (commonly abbreviated as DTLV) is the central business district and historic center of Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. It is the original townsite, and the Downtown gaming area was the primary gambling district of Las Vegas prior to the Strip .
On January 17, 2001, northwest Las Vegas, which occupies over a third of the city's area, was unofficially given the name Centennial Hills in a contest, which won with 2,222 votes. Other proposed names for the area were Arrow Canyon with 1,784 votes, Tule Springs with 111 votes, and Cielo de Oro, chosen by Mayor Oscar Goodman, with 35 votes. [1]
The Fremont Hotel and Casino is one of the casinos and hotels currently located in Downtown Las Vegas that is part of the Fremont Street Experience. The casino is located on what is commonly referred to as the four corners. These are the four main hotels that are located on the corner of Casino Center Boulevard and Fremont Street.
