Like the Our Gang shorts of the time, The Boy Friends films are two-reel short subjects produced by Hal Roach through Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. They feature teenage actors including some, particularly Mickey Daniels and Mary Kornman, who as children had starred in the early silent Our Gang shorts. Grady Sutton was also a lead player in the series.
She appeared with Mickey in the teen version of Our Gang, The Boy Friends. [ citation needed ] In 1934, she married Leo Tover, a cameraman, [ 3 ] but divorced approximately five years later. The shorts ended with a segment about how they were made. The Short Films by Short People shorts premiered as Snick Snack interstitials during Nickelodeon's SNICK block. On December 21, 1997, Nickelodeon aired "The First Ever Short Films by Short People Film Festival", a half-hour special highlighting six of the shorts.
