The station became a model for the future construction of other stations on the line. It was incorporated as a village in 1980 and disincorporated in 2004, after which portions of the area were annexed into nearby Downers Grove. [3]
The model train display sprawls across some 1,200 square feet with 25 model trains wending their way through landscapes as diverse as the White House, the Indianapolis skyline and the Grand Canyon.
