Castle Leslie, also known as Glaslough House, is home to an Irish branch of Clan Leslie, is located on the 4 km 2 (1,000-acre) Castle Leslie Estate adjacent to the village of Glaslough, 11 km (7 mi) northeast of Monaghan town in County Monaghan, Ireland.
In 1980, the castle and estate were purchased for about $25,000 [citation needed] and restored by the City of Aberdeen architect David Carnegie Leslie at a cost of about $1 million. [ citation needed ] The castle's walls had collapsed and there were piles of rubble up to 8 feet (2.4 m) high, and tons of carved stone had been stolen over the years.

Dundarave was designed by Sir Charles Lanyon, the eminent architect, and was built in 1846, [1] a contemporary of Castle Leslie. It occupies high ground over the village of Bushmills and the coastline of North Antim, near the port of Portballintrae. The estate is made up of extensive woods; these amount to approximately 100 acres (40 ha). [2]
