Theodore Anthony Nugent (/ ˈ n uː dʒ ɪ n t /; born December 13, 1948) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and political activist. [1] [2] He goes by several nicknames, including Uncle Ted, the Nuge, and Motor City Madman.
Nugent played with the Lourds until his family moved to Illinois, where he founded the Amboy Dukes [4] in the Chicago area in 1964, [5] playing at The Cellar, in the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights, among other venues. Derek St. Holmes (born February 24, 1953) is an American rock musician, best known as the lead singer and rhythm guitar player for Ted Nugent's early solo career.
