The Akron Poetry Prize is an annual contest held by The University of Akron Press. The competition is open to all poets writing in English. The winning poet receives an honorarium of $1,500 and publication of his or her book in the Akron Series in Poetry. The final selection is made by a nationally prominent poet.
Jason Bredle (February 16, 1976 – ) is an American poet and translator. Born in Indianapolis, he received degrees in English literature and Spanish from Indiana University, where he was named Ruth Halls Outstanding Young Artist in Poetry, and an MFA from the University of Michigan, where he earned a Hopwood Award.
