The 1986 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe was a horse race held at Longchamp on Sunday 5 October 1986. [1] It was the 65th running of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Dancing Brave took the lead approaching the final furlong and drifted to the right, causing Shardari to switch to the left in the closing stages. Dancing Brave held off the renewed challenge of Shardari to win by three quarters of a length with a gap of four lengths back to the fast-finishing Triptych.
