The Fabric Workshop became "The Fabric Workshop and Museum", and now has a permanent collection of over 5,500 objects created by more than 400 artists. Due to the expansion of their neighbor, the Philadelphia Convention Center, the Fabric Workshop and Museum has changed its location three times. Its current location is 1214 Arch Street. [1] [3]
The workshop moved from its original 5,000 square foot space at 1133 Arch Street to a 35,000 foot rental at 1315 Cherry Street, [13] and finally to a multi-floor space at 1214 Arch Street. [11] The collection of materials and finished pieces also grew, and in 1996 the workshop was expanded to become The Fabric Workshop and Museum.
