Old Woking is a ward and the original settlement of the town and borough of Woking, Surrey, about 1.3 miles (2.1 km) southeast of the modern town centre.It is bounded by the Hoe Stream to the north and the River Wey to the south and between Kingfield to the west and farmland to the east.
The westernmost Bronze Age bell barrow on Horsell Common [2]. In Horsell Common there are three ancient bell barrow burial mounds that are around 3–4,000 years old. A possible explanation to these burial mounds (as Bell Barrow Mounds are not common in Surrey) is that they were built to 'commemorate leaders who had migrated from Wessex to colonise new lands'.
Westfield was one of three ‘open fields’ of the ancient town of Woking (see Old Woking) and was first recorded in 1548. [2] The ‘west’ field was in fact divided into two areas with the ‘lower west field’ occupying the area of present-day Westfield Avenue and the Football Ground and the ‘upper west field’ covering the area to the south and east of the Westfield Road.

The church is a Grade I listed building, within the Old Woking Conservation Area. St Peter's was originally the parish church of Woking prior to the development of a new urban area, now called Woking, centered on the railway station. The village of Woking subsequently became known as Old Woking.
