Lou Fant (December 13, 1931 – June 11, 2001) was a pioneering teacher, author and expert on American Sign Language (ASL). He was also an actor in film, television, and the stage. Natively bilingual in ASL and English, he often played roles relating to sign language and the deaf. [1] His life centered on advocacy and teaching for the deaf.
Phillinoisip "Phillip" Gyau (born February 7, 1966) is a former U.S. soccer forward who is the current head coach of the Howard Bison men's soccer program. He spent his outdoor career in the American Soccer League and the American Professional Soccer League, his indoor career with the Washington Warthogs and Baltimore Blast, and spent nine years with the U.S. National Beach Soccer team.
To prepare for the part, Ahmed spent seven months working alongside American Sign Language coach Jeremy Lee Stone, learning ASL and integrating himself in the deaf community.
He has coached among others French sides ASL Robertsau, Sélestat Alsace, RC Strasbourg, and the Romanian national men's handball team (twice), and the Romanian national women's handball team. Between February 2009 and May 2010 he was also the head coach of CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea .
