The Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps (RAAOC) is the Corps within the Australian Army concerned with supply and administration, as well as the demolition and disposal of explosives and salvage of battle-damaged equipment.
The disposal of military equipment, particularly outside of Australia, presented a challenge to the Disposals Commission. At the end of the war inadequate preparations were made for the storage of equipment in New Guinea , and many stores were stolen by soldiers, native New Guineans and 'salvage pirates' or damaged by the tropical conditions.
A commitment to the site for post-war military use resulted in formal acquisition of the land by the Australian Government in 1949. The RAAF vacated the depot in 1956, having jointly occupied it with the Army from 1952 onwards. The Army, as sole occupant thereafter, held a large auction of surplus buildings and equipment in 1956.

The 2nd Force Support Battalion (2 FSB) was an Australian Army logistics battalion. Established in 1998, 2 FSB was a reserve unit headquartered in Hobart, with depot in various locations across Tasmania and Victoria. It was merged into the 8th Operational Support Unit in 2024.
It encompasses both reserve and full-time units, geographically dispersed throughout Australia. Headquartered in Sydney its primary deployable command element is the Force Sustainment Group .
