Deerfield is a town in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 4,855 at the 2020 census , [ 2 ] up from 4,280 in 2010 . Deerfield is the location of the annual Deerfield Fair.
The town of Deerfield was incorporated in 1766, having originally been part of a land grant that formed Nottingham in 1721. Its early town center, little more than the colonial meeting house, was located north of the present center nearer the town's geographic center, and was set high on a hill, with little level space for growth.
The Deerfield Town House (or Deerfield Town Hall) is the town hall of Deerfield, New Hampshire. Built in 1856, it is one of the state's finest examples of public Greek Revival architecture. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, as "Town House". [1]
