Higher education in Pakistan is the systematic process of students continuing their education beyond secondary school, learned societies and two-year colleges.The governance of higher education is maintained under the Higher Education Commission (Pakistan) (HEC) which oversees the financial funding, research outputs and teaching quality in the country. Up to date, the HEC has published rankings for the years 2006, 2012, 2013, 2014 and most recently 2015. [2] In addition to the top ten and general rankings, independent rankings are also provided for universities and institutes in the categories of agriculture and veterinary science; arts and design; business; engineering and technology; and medicine. The university was founded in 1950 and offers programs for undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctoral studies. [1] With approximately 14,000 enrolled students attending the university, it has six academic faculties with forty postgraduate department as well as two "centers of excellence".

City University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar (CUSIT) is a private-sector university based in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. [2] It is chartered by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) , and allowed to operate by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
