Kamal Haasan is an Indian actor, film director, film producer, screenwriter and dance choreographer who works primarily in Tamil cinema. At the age of 5, he debuted as a child actor in the 1960 Tamil film Kalathur Kannamma , directed by A. Bhimsingh , which won him the President's Gold Medal . [ 1 ]
Kamal Haasan was born as Parthasarathy Srinivasan on 7 November 1954, [11] in a Tamil Iyengar Brahmin family, to D. Srinivasan, who was a lawyer and freedom fighter, [12] and Rajalakshmi, who was a housewife. [13] His native place is Paramakudi. Haasan was initially named as Parthasarathy. His father later changed his name to Kamal Haasan. [14]
