The Werner Mountains are in southern Palmer Land on the Lassiter Coast of the Weddell Sea. They are northeast of the Playfair Mountains, northwest of Arctowski Peak on the Piggott Peninsula, west of New Bedford Inlet, south of the Dana Mountains. The interior ice plateau to the west is largely featureless apart from isolated nunataks.
