VEXcode V5 is a Scratch-based coding environment designed by VEX Robotics for programming VEX Robotics hardware, such as the VEX V5 Brain. The block-style interface makes programming simple for elementary through high-school students. VEXcode is consistent across VEX 123, GO, IQ, and V5 and can be used to program the devices from each.
The REC Foundation began as the education division of VEX Robotics, inc. in 2008 to develop educational programs for the VEX Robotics Competition. In 2011, three employees of the educational division formed the REC Foundation in response to the growing size of the competition and the increase in companies hoping to provide philanthropic support.
Brookside competes in VEX Robotics competitions. The Robotics program launched during the 2013–14 school year. In 2015–16, Brookside Intermediate School added VEX-IQ teams. In 2016-17 Brookside Middle School added VEX-VRC teams. With over 20 robots and over 100 students, this is the largest competitive robotics program in Lorain County.

Askildsen, who had previously spent ten years working for Lego Education, had grown frustrated working with teaching professionals and wanted to create an improved educational experience that was delivered directly towards children.

Hewitt Robotics team [7] regularly qualify for VEX IQ State Championships and have competed in the VEX Robotics Competition World Championships. [8] Hewitt's Middle School Sustainability and Social Activism Committee is dedicated to creating sustainable and ethical practices within the Hewitt community and throughout New York. [9]
Beginning with the 2014-2015 School year, MBJH started their first year in VEX IQ robotics under the direction of Mr. James Salvant. His excellent leadership and direction proved valuable in that MBJH won the Alabama VEX IQ State Championship.
