Skatetown, U.S.A. is a 1979 American comedy musical film produced to capitalize on the short-lived fad of roller disco. [2] Directed by William A. Levey, the film features many television stars from the 1960s and 1970s, among them Scott Baio, Flip Wilson, Maureen McCormick, Ron Palillo and Ruth Buzzi.
Roller Boogie is frequently cited among a number of films in the late-1970s that capitalized on the roller boogie trend, along with films such as Skatetown, U.S.A.. [16] It was also one of the last films made by actress Linda Blair before she appeared in a series of exploitation horror and crime films throughout the following decade. [7]
