By the end of 2010, significant investments in the renovation of Croatian airports began. New modern and spacious passenger terminals were opened in 2017 at Zagreb and Dubrovnik Airports and in 2019 at Split Airport. The new passenger terminals at Dubrovnik Airport and Zagreb Airport are the first in Croatia to feature jet bridges. [2] [3]

In 2006, Dubrovnik Airline carried 380,000 passengers while the first seven months of 2007, saw it transport 360,000 passengers. [3] The airline was loss making since 2009 and ceased all operations on 23 October 2011 after defaulting on its debts thus declaring bankruptcy .

The Franjo Tuđman Bridge (Croatian: Most dr. Franja Tuđmana) is a cable-stayed bridge carrying the D8 state road at the western approach to Dubrovnik, Croatia across Rijeka Dubrovačka near Port of Gruž. The original bridge design was developed in 1989; however, construction was stopped at the onset of the Croatian War of Independence.
