The Dead South is a folk-bluegrass musical ensemble based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. The band was initially formed in 2012 as a quartet by Nate Hilts (vocals, guitar, mandolin), Scott Pringle (guitar, mandolin, vocals), Danny Kenyon (cello, bass, vocals) and Colton Crawford ( banjo ).

Lynyrd Skynyrd was formed under the name My Backyard in 1964, which was later changed to The Noble Five, and again to One Percent. [2] The group originally included vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, guitarists Gary Rossington and Allen Collins, bassist Larry Junstrom and drummer Bob Burns, all of whom were students at Robert E. Lee High School. [3]
David Lowy and Jon Stevens formed the Dead Daisies in 2012, and recorded the band's self-titled debut album in 2013 with session musicians. [1] The first touring lineup of the group, which performed in March 2013, included Guns N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus, former Angels bassist Jim Hilbun, Cold Chisel drummer Charley Drayton and former Dragon keyboardist Alan Mansfield.
