The University of Saint Katherine (USK) was a private college in San Marcos, California. Founded in 2011 as Saint Katherine College, USK taught liberal arts and sciences in more than 25 fields of study. It changed its name to final namesake in November 2016, when it added graduate studies.

University High School (known as UHS or Uni) was founded in 1957 as a Catholic college preparatory high school for boys. It was located in the San Diego neighborhood of Linda Vista, on a site overlooking Mission Bay to the west and Mission Valley to the south, across the street from the University of San Diego which had been founded in 1949. St. Joseph became a cathedral in 1936, [4] when the Holy See established the Diocese of San Diego from part of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The cathedral is built on the site of the earlier churches and was dedicated in 1941. [5] St. Joseph underwent restoration work in 2011 which included repainting and restoring exterior wood and concrete.

Diego was consecrated at the Franciscan church of Guadalupe, Zacatecas, on 4 October 1840, and on 11 December 1841, landed at San Diego. Owing to the poverty and insignificance of the place, he removed his residence [ 5 ] to Mission Santa Barbara [ 4 ] on 11 January 1842.
