Like Fasteddie, I have a Gen 1 Ruger American Ranch in 7.62X39 and for some odd reason, it is exceptionally accurate with cheap Wolf 123 gr HP ammo. Bought it because of the affordable price and was pleasantly surprised with the unexpected accuracy. If you are uncertain about the Gen 2 rifles, search around for Gen 1 rifles still in inventory ...

Oh, and another plug for Promag 10-round magazines. I wasted so much time and effort trying to make the garbage Ruger brand 10-rounders work. Those terrible magazines almost made me give up on the rifle. The Promags have worked perfectly and now the Ruger American, with its high-reliability and excellent accuracy, is my go-to rifle.

  4. Ruger American Ranch Rifle in 5.56 NATO

    www.rugerforum.net/threads/ruger-american-ranch-rifle-in-5...

Earlier today, I spent a short time at the rifle range with a Ruger American Ranch (RAR) rifle in 5.556 NATO. It wears a Redfield 2-7 rifle scope made by Leupold when Leupold owned the Redfield brand. The scope is essentially the same as a Leupold VX Freedom (I believe but I may be mistaken.). I had only two types of ammunition, both Wolf steel ...

The factory option is flimsy and twists. It will be a gun I walk lots of miles in so I am looking for something similar in weight, polymer composite is fine, traditional style ...

    1. If you wish to hunt Deer, pigs or bigger game get the .308 But for range use the .556 is a lot cheaper to shoot. 2. I think you will need to use a good gun smith to add the front sights on the Ranch. 3. The composite stock is available for the Scout, They also make use of the spacers.

  7. American Ranch Scope Mounting - Ruger Forum

American Ranch Scope Mounting. I just bought an American Ranch in 5.56 and I'm planning to put a Vortex Diamondback Tactical on it. Either the 6-24x50FFP or the 4-16x44FFP. I have a few questions that I need answered to help make my decision. I would prefer the 50mm scope because my eye sight isn't that great and any extra light and ...

  8. Ruger American Ranch Magazine

I am interested to see what Ruger says about using the 223/556 magazines with 350 Legend. I went the other way and had Ruger send me the magwell to convert 223/556 Ranch from rotary to AR magazines. Easy to install and worked very well. Cost about $25 shipped a few years ago IIRC. When you contact Ruger be sure to have your rifle serial number.

Don't know why it wouldn't adjust down to 3 lbs. but it would not. Still getting 1/2-5/8" groups @ 100 yds. with this little gun with federal american eagle fmj ammo.

Ruger American Ranch 7.62x39 expectations. I recently purchased a Ruger American Ranch chambered in 7.62x39. I have read multiple articles about this specific rifle/caliber combination yielding very high quality accuracy from a relatively base model rifle. When I got home with the gun I discovered that it had severe bolt chatter when opening ...

3 posts · Joined 2023. #1 · Apr 6, 2023. Hello all, I recently purchased an American Ranch 556 and have a few question. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 1- are the bolts interchangeable with any other manufacturers (Wilson combat, etc) or is it proprietary to Ruger only. 2- is it necessary or better to change out the cocking piece to ...
