Mitsubishi's North American R&D facility in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2010 2015 was a record setting year for MMNA, selling five million vehicles to date and 95,342 for the year in the United States, continuing a streak of 22 consecutive months of year-over-year sales increases and a 23 percent sales increase over the previous year.
First generation (1988–1991): the V3000 name originally applied to a 3.0-litre V6 engine version of the Mitsubishi Galant manufactured locally in New Zealand between 1988 and 1991. This model was intended to sit above the heavily related, but wider 2.6-litre inline-four engined Mitsubishi Magna (TN/TP) sourced from Australia.
The Diamante is not a rebadged Magna, in fact, it's the other way around - the Magna is a rebadged and slightly modified version of the Diamante. The car was also sold briefly in Europe, although I have yet to ascertain the correct years.
