Joseph (born Sept. 27, 1920) is the main protagonist of Battle Tendency and the grandson of Jonathan Joestar. Having been brought up by his grandmother Erina and Speedwagon, he developed a coarser and more rebellious attitude than that of his gentlemanly grandfather, but he still has a noble heart.
Joseph and Speedwagon travel to Rome, where they meet Caesar Zeppeli, a young man who did Hamon training to continue the legacy of his father and grandfather. However, the group arrives too late to prevent Kars, Wamuu, and Esidisi from awakening. Joseph plays on Wamuu's pride and convinces Wamuu to let him live to be a more worthy opponent.

Joseph Joestar from the second arc is one of the playable characters, while Santana and Speedwagon made cameo appearances. Its sequel Famicom Jump II: Saikyō no Shichinin, released on December 2, 1991, features Jotaro as a selectable character. Joseph, Avdol, Kakyoin and Polnareff also appear in this game. Both games were available on the Famicom.
