At least for me, it was as simple as turning the keyboard off, plugging in the keyboard with the usb chord it came with, then clicking Fn + 5 which switched the keyboard to function off of the usb. Then it immediately connected to my computer and my software recognized it. I feel so silly now lol. Hope that helps everyone!
The Keyboard can be changed by utilizing the Fn key Plus arrow keys, to change speed of pulsing or rotating lights, and the intensity of the lights, and the Fn + insert, home, page up, page down, delete, or end keys to change the light colors, or static and pulsing modes, just play around with it and you can get it where you want it.
I was recently gifted a Redragon Vishnu keyboard ( Model: k596rgb ) The keyboard itself works perfectly. Works right away with default settings when you plug it in.
Redragon has a nice software (albeit in only runs on Windows) that can remap individual keys. I want to swap my R_ALT with FN but the software doesn't allow me to do so. The software allows me to remap FN to, say, 'A' or '1' so I know the firmware is able to reconfigure the FN key. Likewise for R_ALT: reconfigurable by the stock software.
So the solution is keyboard needs to be connected with wire so software registers it as connected. After you set up what you need you can disconnect it. Maybe with dongle it works too but didn't try it yet. Go to the installation folder (ex: C:\Program Files (x86)\Redragon K616-RGB) and run the "update" file.
Disassemble the keyboard, find the chip of the chip (I have an article in my profile at the very bottom written) find the leg responsible for switching to BOOT mode, then clamp it with something metal and then connect the keyboard to the power supply, it will switch to bootloader mode and then install the original firmware (it can be found on the redragon website or on discord server SONIXQMK)
I've tried restarting my PC, redownloading the app, unplugging my keyboard. But unfortunately, there is no change. I was wondering if anyone was having this same issue and if there's any solution or other software to program my keyboard. I've also tried just using my keyboard to change it, but there's just the basic modes + colors.
I have been looking at dev notes for people making OpenRGB profiles on Redragon keebs and it seems that most of the modes are hardwired into the on-board controller and the packet operands are confusing. So, don't expect anyone to crack the 100% customization soon. 1. Reply. I know you can change profiles by using FN + (key) and make a custom ...
Two work a rounds I have found is 1.) Using a windows pc for changing and setting up the mouse. 2.) VM windows on linux mouse pass though. You must do this for each change to the mouse. There is memory in mouse that lets you use last set settings on linux. 1.
