Albert Robison Lyman was born on January 10, 1880, in Fillmore, Utah, to Platte D. Lyman and Adelia Robison. At the time of Albert Lyman's birth, his father was working on the road through Hole-in-the-Rock. Lyman grew up in Scipio and Bluff. [1] Lyman was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 2, 1888. [2]
The John Lyman Book Awards are given annually by the North American Society for Oceanic History to recognise excellence in published books making a major contribution to the study and understanding of maritime and naval history. They are named after Professor John Lyman (1915–1977) of the University of North Carolina.

Adam Ramage (1771/72 – July 9, 1850) was an American printing press manufacturer and the originator of Ramage printing press, a "one-pull" printing press. He is noted for being one of the most important printing press makers and innovators of his day, and the primary press-builder in the United States during the beginning of the 19th century.
The press referred to it as "Boulder Dam" as a reference to the construction site, Boulder Canyon. While in Nevada in 1930, Secretary of the Interior Ray Lyman Wilbur referred to the project as "Hoover Dam", a reference to Republican President Herbert Hoover.
