Hampton Bays Public Schools is a public school district in Hampton Bays, a hamlet in the Town of Southampton in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The total enrollment for the 2007–2008 school year was 1783 students.
The school was originally known as Hampton Bays Junior-Senior School when it opened in 1971, serving grades seven to twelve. In 1993, the school was renamed Hampton Bays Secondary School until 2008, when it reverted to a high school with the opening of a middle school in the district, with grades seven and eight moving to the new campus.
Hampton Bays is served by Hampton Bays Public Schools. [12] The district operates three schools. Hampton Bays Elementary School serves grades Pre-K-4, [13] and Hampton Bays Middle School, which fully opened in Fall 2008, serves grades 5-8. It is the first "green" school in New York state.
