Motijheel (Bengali: মতিঝিল, romanised: Motijhil) is an elevated metro station of the Dhaka Metro Rail's MRT Line 6. This station is located in the area of Dilkusha towards Motijheel . It commenced operations on 5 November 2023.
The line is entirely elevated and currently has 16 stations operational in service between Uttara North and Motijheel. [3] The line was built as a proposal of a mass rapid transit system in Dhaka by the Review Committee of the Strategic Transport Plan and the Urban Traffic Formulation Study.

The first route, originally projected to start from Uttara, a northern area of Dhaka, to Sayedabad, in the south of the capital, [29] was eventually extended north to Uttara and truncated south to Motijheel. [30] The original length which was 20.10 km (12.49 mi) has been increased by 1.16 km (0.72 mi) to 21.26 km (13.21 mi).
However, as the proposed alignment of the route would pass over the Dhaka–Aricha highway, the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) objected to its construction and halted the pre-construction activities. A meeting was held between the two sides on 23 March 2021 to resolve the issue.
