Glenside campus is the home of the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), in Bristol. It is located on Blackberry Hill in the suburb of Fishponds. Its clocktower is a prominent landmark, visible from the M32 motorway. Several of the buildings on the site are Grade II listed. [1]
UWE Bristol's largest and primary campus is located 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Bristol city centre in the Stoke Park and Cheswick parish of South Gloucestershire, part of the North Fringe of Bristol. It is named after the village of Frenchay, 1 + 1 ⁄ 4 miles (2 km) to the east. Filton is to the west and Stoke Gifford to the north.

The various departments of the faculty of Creative Arts, Humanities and Education from St Matthias and Bower Ashton have moved to new facilities at Frenchay campus. [4] As part of the planned closure UWE and the UWE Students' Union held a 3 day farewell party to celebrate the campus, its history, staff, ex- staff, students and alumni. [5]

The University of the West of England (UWE) has its main campus in the area, near Frenchay in Stoke Gifford. As a result of major pressures for development for housing, industry, offices and out-of-town shopping, the then local authority, Northavon District Council, prepared the North Fringe Local Plan for the area in 1987.
