Menominee is Townships 28 (part) and 29 (part) North, Ranges 1 (part) and 2 (part) West of the Fourth Principal Meridian. According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 30.54 square miles (79.1 km 2), of which 28 square miles (73 km 2) (or 91.68%) is land and 2.54 square miles (6.6 km 2) (or 8.32%) is water.

Powers is in north-central Menominee County at the junction of U.S. Routes 2 and 41, which meet in the northeast corner of the village. US 2 leads west 30 miles (48 km) to Iron Mountain, while US 41 leads south 41 miles (66 km) to Menominee, the county seat. The two concurrent highways lead east 23 miles (37 km) to Escanaba on Lake Michigan.
The Menominee County Courthouse is a three-story Classical Revival building constructed of red brick, sitting on a rock-faced ashlar basement. [2] The exterior walls are load-bearing, while the interior walls, floors, and roof are constructed of wood. [3] Additional reinforcing of concrete and steel has been added during renovations. [3]
Menekaunee is located in the easternmost part of Marinette, on the right bank of the Menominee River. Menekaunee Harbor lies north of the settlement, and there is a road connection to Menominee, Michigan via the Menekaunee Bridge (or Ogden Street Bridge), a bascule bridge built in 1973.
