Hutchinson County, South Dakota. / 43.34°N 97.75°W / 43.34; -97.75. Hutchinson County is a county in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 7,427. [1] Its county seat is Olivet. [2] The county was created in 1862 and organized in 1871; it was named for John Hutchinson, first territorial secretary.
