There are two variables that you must change: resheight and reswidth. Make sure you change the default hex value to decimal value. Example - 24" widescreen with 1920x1200 resolution. reswidth = 1920. resheight = 1200. You may have to restart Warcraft 3 for the change to take effect. Thats all there is to it!

  5. Lower Res. than 640x480? - Overclock.net

    www.overclock.net/threads/lower-res-than-640x480.453760

672/504 = 4:3. Despite knowing how to round to mod2, you should avoid resolutions that have to be rounded up or down because if the aspect ratio isn't perfect, your monitor probably doesn't support it. Some common 4:3 resolutions -. 320x240 (mod16) 640x480 (mod16) 704x528 (mod16) 720x540 (mod4) 768x576 (mod16)

  6. Why do you play better on 800x600 compared to 1920x1080?

    www.overclock.net/threads/why-do-you-play-better-on-800x600-compared-to-1920x...

1440x1080 is 4:3 aspect ratio. Using 800x600 at 1:1 aspect does NOT make objects BIGGER than 1440x1080 at 1:1 aspect, except in screen size itself. Using 800x600 full screen or 1440x1080 full screen looks the same except 1440x1080 will look less horridly blocky, unless a game doesn't have Hor+ scaling.

In hor+ games, 16:9 sees more horizontally than 16:0, which sees more horizontally than 4:3, which sees more horizontally than 5:4. The vertical field of view always remains the same. 1920x1200 sees less than 1920x1080 which sees less than 1920x900 which sees less than 1920x700. You're free to try this in games.

Then open the settings.txt file of the game in the appdata\\Local\\Electronic Arts\\Dead Space\\ folder and manually change the resolution to whatever you want. Then save the txt file, and load the game. For more tips read this.

  11. So.. 4k Monitors.. any 4:3 or 5:4 out there? - Overclock.net

    www.overclock.net/threads/so-4k-monitors-any-4-3-or-5-4-out-there.1527143

The narrowest aspect ratio that's available in a commercial monitor currently that's close to UHD in pixel density its 3280x2048 (16:10), so nothing close to 5:4 or 4:3. 2560x2048 (5:4) is probably the highest resolution available currently and in the near future for narrow aspect ratios.
