Warcraft 3 custom maps/games led to entire new genres (Mobas), and some tower defense maps are re-launched as steam stand-alone games. Recently found a project where they basicly remastered Settlers 2 for DOS to be playble in bigger maps and higher framerate/resolution and multiplayer, open source type development is certainly interesting as well.
Hello everyone!. I'd like you guys to recommend me some games with skill/stat point based systems (For PC). To narrow the options a bit, I'm looking for something like Skyrim that lets me make a character the way I want it, with different viable options (not like Dark Souls, where pretty much every build has to use weapon+shield). It can be an MMORPG, like, maybe Maplestory but more balanced ...
Unsure as to what you would deem "super challenging" but as to what single-player games are similar to WoW then that would be as wholol said, normal RPGs. If you want games with a quest structure similar to WoW and kind of similar gameplay then there's the Elder Scrolls series, Witcher series, Kingdoms of Amalur and a bunch of other games.
The games I liked were not sold in stores, or stuck behind some insane "European customers enjoy waiting longer for new game releases" policy (yes, that is an actual quote). I have indeed bought some of those games later on, but mostly in the form of sequels. Nowadays, Steam exists. I do not need to pirate games anymore.
Every time I connect to a voice channel, the sound quality of everything drops off. Youtube, WoW, other games, absolutely everything. I checked the windows settings and they aren't set to drop the volume, this isn't the problem. Changing those settings does nothing. The volume of whatever I have running doesn't change, just the quality. All the bass drops out and everything sounds tinny. Any ...
Sure the graphics aren't as good, but the games were better made, the combat system works better, and there are a lot more cutscenes (even if they aren't as impressive as the CGI in the remakes). Making the cut scenes hand drawn in the Sega CD versions enabled them to do a lot more vs the expensive CGI in the remakes.
So, I know a lot of people wanted to just make one official GW2 thread because a lot have been popping up, so I am going to put most of the information we know about the game here for discussion. Just to clarify: Yes, you can jump in Guild Wars 2. Yes, it is an open and persistent world. Yes, there is no monthly fee. More FAQ General
Lineage 2 has been going on for 21 years now, Guild Wars 2 (they published yes but still) for 12 years, Blade and soul is still up and running after 8 years. I mean yeah, their games might not be your cup of tea and its fine, they might not attract millions like WoW or FF14 did, but saying none of them last is kind of a stretch.
Alot of people come up w/ very creative Arena names; whats your favorite? Mine is one of the European Tournament qualifiers, <sapped cows dont go moo>.
It should help load games/other things a bit faster that aren't on the SSD too, but it's more beneficial to have it on the SSD. It makes loading everything faster, from loading screens in games, to navigating windows, and loading windows from a restart/start up. I timed restarts on my computer before and after I got my SSD.
