Thunderbirds was last transmitted on the ITV network in 1981. [203] From 1965 to 1967, APF released 19 Thunderbirds audio plays on EP record. [204] [205] Three of these were original stories; the rest were condensed TV episode re-tellings narrated by the regular characters.
Two feature film sequels to the TV series were released in 1966 and 1968, followed by three made-for-TV compilation films in the early 1980s. The puppet character of the TV series and first two films were voiced by Sylvia Anderson. The events of "Day of Disaster" are later recalled in flashback in the clip show episode "Security Hazard". In 1967, Century 21 released a condensed audio adaptation of "Day of Disaster" on EP record (Thunderbirds, catalogue number MA 121), with narration by David Graham in character as Gordon Tracy.
