Galena's 1858 population stood at 14,000 before the city began an era of significant decline. [7] Many of the buildings, however, survived the ensuing time period, though in a much dilapidated state. Galena was important to the early development of the Upper Midwest, and today the town retains much of its 19th-century character. [6]

The Ohio State University Golf Club is located in Upper Arlington, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus. [1] It was founded by L.W. St. John, (Ohio State University Athletic Director, 1912–1947). The golf club has two 18-hole golf courses: Scarlet and Gray. The Scarlet was completed in 1938 and the Gray was finished later in 1940.
Walnut Hills is home to multiple historic sites. The Harriet Beecher Stowe House was where Harriet Beecher Stowe's father, Lyman Beecher, lived. Harriet spent time there since it was the center of Beecher family life in Cincinnati. While Harriet's husband was out of town her first children, twin daughters, were born in the house.
