You can get decent hard containers with lids at the supermarket, that can be frozen and microwaved numerous times, for about 50 cents each in packs of four. I'd put your soup in those. 06-26-2013, 04:09 AM
I pulled back the lid carefully thinking maybe it was moldy or otherwise bad but it looks just fine and smells fine. The consistency is the same as usual. It just made me think of the warnings to not use canned goods if lids were distended. To be clear, it's not like it had been opened or tampered with.
I'm pretty sure we had them when I was little but I don't remember how well the lids fit. Obviously some of the really good plastic containers made for this probably have the best seal and I do use have some plastic but am trying to use less. Anyone still have these or remember how well (or not) the lids worked/fit in sealing out moisture, bugs ...
Next to the Apollo were those " Sketchy Sneaker Shops " but they carried swag that you could only find on 125th. I used to go up to the Bronx around Fordam for the same. They had New Era lids that you couldn't find downtown anywhere. Modells used to be my place too but they went out of business right ? Nothing like that ?
I also looked at some condos out in Lake Las Vegas and the HOA fees were in the $400-800 a month range. And a friend who is househunting right now is finding SIDS/LIDS in the $20K range for some of the houses he's looking at. Veering off topic, what is so darn difficult about taking the lids to a local park and letting them burn off some steam? If the parents in the building are turning their kids loose and not caring what the children are doing or what they are damaging, the apartment management has to do something to try to control the damage.
That's a good point. Compared to much of the parking lot I'm sure, we'll be under the radar. Just some brats to keep it simple. Travel mugs with lids. I doubt they'll worry about us.
