Mabee Center is a 10,094-seat multi-purpose arena, located on the campus of Oral Roberts University, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States. [1] The building opened in 1972 and was designed by architect Frank Wallace, who designed most of the buildings on the ORU campus.
The Mabee Center has been home to the Golden Eagles since 1972. The arena bears the name of John and Lottie Mabee, who established the Tulsa-based Mabee Foundation in 1948. The benevolences of this foundation are evident throughout the Southwest where many edifices bear the name.
The series has seen three interruptions in its history: four seasons spanning 1987 to 1991 when Oral Roberts dropped to NAIA status; in 2010-11 when Tulsa would not agree to a date for the contracted game at ORU's Mabee Center, and 2020-21 when TU opted out of games at Arkansas and ORU due to COVID issues in the program.
