From its source in Custer County, at the confluence of the West Fork and East Fork headwaters, the Pahsimeroi River flows generally northwest, through the Pahsimeroi Valley, between the Lemhi Range to the east, and the Lost River Range and to the west. The Pahsimeroi River joins the Salmon River near Ellis, Idaho, upriver from Salmon, Idaho.

The Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve is a 1,416-square-mile (3,670 km 2) dark-sky preserve near the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, in the U.S. state of Idaho. It was designated on December 18, 2017, and is the first gold-tier dark sky preserve in the United States. [2] [3] [4] The area was designated by International Dark-Sky Association.
Cooper's Ferry is an archaeological site along the lower Salmon River near the confluence with Rock Creek in the western part of the U.S. state of Idaho, and part of the Lower Salmon River Archeological District. It is 17 kilometres (11 mi) south of the town of Cottonwood and 63 kilometres (39 mi) upstream from the Snake River.
