Omar (Hebrew: אוֹמָר ʾŌmār, possibly meaning "eloquent" or "gifted speaker") [1] was the name of a man mentioned in the Bible, the ancestor of a Semitic Edomite and Canaanite clan, [2] the son of Eliphaz (Esau's eldest son).
