The Michigan High School Athletic Association Southeastern Conference (MHSAA SEC) is a high school sports conference composed of schools (all public) in four different counties in the state of Michigan. The SEC is split into two divisions, Red and White, based on enrollment. Currently, there are 14 members of the SEC.

He attended Cedar Hill High School in Cedar Hill, Texas, where he played for the Cedar Hill Longhorns high school football team. He played varsity for two seasons. As a senior in 2006, he recorded 37 receptions for 708 yards and 11 touchdowns as part of a state championship team. [1] This was the very first Cedar Hill state championship team.
McGuire began his coaching career at his alma mater Crowley High School in Texas as the defensive line coach. [3] He went on to coach at Cedar Hill High School as their secondary coach in 1997 under former Crowley coach Robert Woods before being promoted to the school's head coach in 2003. [4]
