In February 2024, Toei Animation announced that a CG animated adventure film titled Hypergalactic was in collaboration with David N. Weiss, Naoto Ohshima, and Joseph Chou.The studio are calling the film their biggest CGI project to date.

At the beginning of the story, Kouhei travels to a castle in Southwest Germany to take photographs of paranormal phenomena for his friend Hiromi, who is the editor of an occult magazine.
