Muhurta is a combination of the Sanskrit root words muhu (moment/immediate) and ṛta (order). The Ṛg Ved III.33.5 accordingly mentions this descriptive term. If sun sets at 05:50 PM on previous day and rises at 06:55 AM, then brahma muhurta shift to 05:11AM to 06:03 AM. Thus duration of each muhurta of night changes to 52 mins instead of 48 mins.
