The Ohio State Highway Patrol post in Trumbull County, which was notified shortly after 7 p.m. Friday, said the crash just north of the airport killed the pilot and two passengers.

His cumulative flight experience was 6,170 hours, of which he had flown 3,414 hours as pilot-in-command. He had 1,020 hours of flight experience with the crash plane, of which he had completed 670 hours as pilot-in-command.
