A second-tier "B" league was added in 2012 with Eastern Shore Breakers, St. Margaret's Bay Storm and Truro Bearcats competing against "B" teams from Halifax Northwest, Moncton and Sackville. This league was operational for only two years with St. Margaret's ceasing operation after the 2012 season and Sackville failing to finish their 2013 season.
The league was reorganized prior to the 2004-05 season as the Nova Scotia Junior C Hockey League. It was renamed prior to the 2016-17 season. Barrington Ice Dogs were the first team to repeat as provincial champion winning titles in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009. [ 1 ]

The following year, the Halifax Parish Cricket League began with 10 members - Triangle, Greetland, Sowerby Bridge, Stainland, Illingworth St Mary's, Lightcliffe, Siddal, Clifton Britannia, Norwood Green and Elland Edge [2] Six of the original clubs are still playing in the league.

The Halifax Mooseheads are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The team was founded in 1994 and began play in the Dilio Division of the QMJHL for the 1994–95 season. [3] They have appeared in the President's Cup Finals five times, winning in 2013.
