The Jizera Dark Sky Park (Polish: Izerski Park Ciemnego Nieba - IPCN, Czech: Jizerská oblast tmavé oblohy - JOTO) is the first transnational dark-sky preserve. It is located in a nearly-uninhabited region of the Jizera Mountains that lies halfway between Poland and the Czech Republic .
It was designated Ireland's first International Dark Sky Reserve by the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA). Kerry International Dark-Sky Reserve was awarded the Gold Tier Award on 27 January 2014, by the IDA. [2] It was the first Gold Tier Reserve in the northern hemisphere, and is one of only four Gold Tier Dark-Sky Reserves in the world.
