It is commonly used for citing sources within the field of behavioral and social sciences , including sociology, education, nursing, criminal justice, anthropology, and psychology.

Loc. cit. is used in place of ibid. when the reference is not only to the work immediately preceding, but also refers to the same page.
This example uses the {} template instead of the <References /> tag, and uses the {} along with {} templates to similarly format full citations placed after the numbered footnotes. This citation style is sometimes termed "Shortened notes", and more information about it can be seen here .
The style guide for publications of the European Union is presented in 24 European languages and includes a section on proofreading. Each edition has a sheet of proofreader's marks that appears to be the same apart from the language used to describe the marks.
Similarly, because works are frequently reprinted in many arts and humanities disciplines, different author–date references might refer to the same work. For example, "(Spivak 1985)", "(Spivak 1987)", and "(Spivak 1996)" might all refer to the same essay — and might be better rendered in author–title style as "(Spivak 'Subaltern')".
