Owned and operated by network parent Corus Entertainment , the station maintains studios on Queen Street in downtown Kingston, and its transmitter is located near Highway 95 on Wolfe Island , south of the city.
Cataraqui Cemetery is a non-denominational cemetery located in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1850, it predates Canadian Confederation , and continues as an active burial ground. [ 1 ] The cemetery is 91 acres in a rural setting with rolling wooded terrain, ponds and watercourses. [ 2 ]
The Standard was created by William R. Givens in 1907, when he acquired the News and Times, which had been an amalgamation of the Kingston News and Evening Times in 1903. The two men amalgamated the papers on 1 December 1926, creating the Whig-Standard. The word "Kingston" was dropped from the name in 1973, but was reinstated in the early 1990s.
