Mobile's Cathedral Parish was established on July 20, 1703, by Jean-Baptiste de la Croix de Chevrières de Saint-Vallier, Bishop of Quebec.Bishop de Saint-Vallier named Father Roulleaux de La Vente, first pastor of the parish church, which was located at the French settlement of Mobile at the citadel of Fort Louis de la Louisiane. St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, now known as Prince of Peace Catholic Church, is a historic Catholic church in Mobile, Alabama. It was designed by a local architect, James H. Hutchisson, in the Gothic Revival style. The current building was built in 1874 and dedicated on January 21, 1877.
At the south-western portion of the church complex is a restaurant operated by the church; Café Inggo 1587. It opened in 2017, featuring Spanish and Filipino cuisines. It was named after the localized nickname of the patron saint of the church and the founder of the Order of Preachers, St. Dominic. [14]

St. Joseph's Parish was the third oldest in Mobile. It was formed in 1857 to serve Catholics too far removed from the downtown Cathedral and the Church of St. Vincent de Paul in South Mobile. St. Joseph's Parish was approaching its 160th year of service before its closure in 2018.
