Subaru Certified Pre-owned (CPO) Warranty Transferable? I recently purchased a 2017 Outback 3.6 Touring, from a Chevy dealer, that is still within the factory 5 years/60,000 mile powertrain warranty. I am the 3rd owner of the Outback. The second owner purchased it from a dealer as a CPO vehicle. My question is, is the CPO 7 year/100,000 mile ...

Most used car dealers have caught on, and try to convince people that their 'certified pre-owned' cars are the same as a factory certified pre-owned. If the warranty isn't through the OEM factory (SoA) then the certification isn't worth much, but it will come with some lame warranty for free and a 3rd party warranty for a lot more. Caveat Emptor.

You'll get 3 more years out of the Outback, and because this is the last and typically most reliable year of production. You also get eyesight and the Subaru safety suite, and airplay/android auto, plus save some on maintenance - probably around $2K vs. a CPO of around 50K miles. This would only apply if you are an 'average' driver.
