Mercury Grand Marquis Water Leaks. mtnman1938 Member Posts: 2. January 2007. I have a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis that leaks water on the driver's side whenever it rains. I have spoke with several mechanics and took it to the auto shop but no one can find where it comes in. I have sprayed water on the windshield and still couldn't find the leak.

Once that is removed go to the outside and slip it out and unplug the pigtail. If you purchased a brand new Ford module you just need to plug it in, slide it back into the door, slide the clip back in to secure the module to the door and reinstall the door panel. Your old master code and personal code (s) will work.

Not there--previous owner must have removed it. Somebody else told me that to program a new code I must know the last one. Local Mercury dealer told me, for $25 ...
May 2010 edited July 2014. I have a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis that starts with a fast idle and then settles to a rough idle after 30 seconds and then smooths out after the engine warms up. Still, it isn't very smooth when the car is stopped in traffic. Occassionally, the car will stall out when stopped at a traffic light for an extended period.
The Marquis name is from the mid-late 60's, with "Grand" moniker, as I remember, appearing about in the mid 70's or later in response to the "Grand" Bonneville from Pontiac. Dad owned both a 54 Ford Crestline & a 72 Marquis Brougham....Prior to the Marquis the top Merc was the Park Lane.

Swapping a 4.6 for 5.4 in a Grand Marquis? Does anyone know or heard of hard it would be to swap out the 4.6 for the 5.4? I've seen people who've done it in magazines and such but I was wondering if takes alot of fabrication for the motor mounts and such. How much should I pay?

My 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis has the following issues - Flashing OD light all the time, sluggish acceleration due to shifting problems, and fuel smell (not sure if related or not). Transmission harness was checked and fluid was fine. Does this sound like a transmission problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. Tagged:
