Ripley is a city in Tippah County, Mississippi, United States.The population was 5,395 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Tippah County. Ripley is a town in southeastern Payne County, Oklahoma, United States. [4] The population was 423 at the 2010 census, a decline of 9.2 percent from the figure of 444 in 2000 . [ 5 ] The town was named after Edward Ripley , the 14th president of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway .
The largest municipality by land area is Jackson, which spans 111.05 sq mi (287.6 km 2), while Sidon is the smallest, at 0.12 sq mi (0.31 km 2). [1] The city of Natchez is the oldest municipality in Mississippi, incorporated on March 10, 1803, and the city of Gluckstadt is the state's newest municipality, incorporated in June 2021. [3] [4]
Falkner lies north of Ripley along Mississippi Highway 15. Just south of Falkner, MS 15 intersects Mississippi Highway 370, which connects it with Ashland to the west. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km 2), all land. [citation needed]
On March 6, 2020, the OMB delineated six combined statistical areas, five metropolitan statistical areas, and 17 micropolitan statistical areas in Oklahoma.
